Design of Cut Off-Frequency Fixing Filters by Error Compensation of MAXFLAT FIR Filters

چکیده

Maximally-flat (MAXFLAT) finite impulse response (FIR) filters often face a problem of the cutoff-frequency error due to approximation desired frequency by some closed-form solution. So far, there have been plenty efforts design such filter with an arbitrarily specified cut off-frequency, but this type requires extensive computation and is not MAXFLAT anymore. Thus, computationally efficient effective needed for highly accurate characteristics. This paper describes new method designing cutoff-frequency-fixing FIR through compensation filters. The proposed provides Chebyshev polynomial containing cutoff-error function, which can characterize “cutoff-error-free” in terms degree flatness given order off-frequency. also allows formula directly determine flatness, so that has flat magnitude characteristic both passband stopband. remarkable effectiveness efficiency accuracy clearly demonstrated various examples, indicating cutoff-fixing exhibit amplitude distortion less than 10−14 no off-frequency error. approach shown provide significant advantages over previous works flexibility accuracy.

Analytical design of FIR filters

A new recursive algorithm for the impulse response coefficients of a FIR lowpass filter is developed. The algorithm is obtained from the differential equation for the amplitude response of a lowpass filter. While the original filter exhibits maximally flat frequency response, the abridging of the impulse response provides a frequency response comparable to those obtained by other design methods.

Closed-Form Design of Maxflat Fractional Delay IIR Filters

Fractional delay (FD) filters are an important class of digital filters and are useful in various signal processing applications. In this paper, the design problem of the maxflat FD IIR filters is discussed, and a new closed-form expression for its filter coefficients is presented. The filter coefficients are directly derived by solving a linear system of Vandermonde equations, which are obtain...

Design of sharp FIR bandstop filters using quadrature masking filters

A novel computationally highly e cient realization of sharp symmetrical bandstop FIR lter is proposed. The new structure is derived using the frequency-response-masking technique, where the bandedge-shaping lter is derived from half-band lter by substituting each delay of the half-band lter by M delays. The masking lters are unconventional. They are quadrature lters derived from linear combinat...

Design of efficient multiplierless FIR filters

An algorithm for reducing the hardware complexity of linear phase finite impulse response digital filters that minimise the adder depth in the multiplier block adders (MBAs) is presented. The algorithm starts by aggressively reducing both the coefficient wordlength and the number of non-zero bits in the filter coefficients. This reduces the number of adders (the adder depth) that are needed to ...

Automated Design of Low Complexity Fir Filters

This paper considers the design of low complexity FIR filters. Complexity is reduced by constraining the filters to have integer coefficients, which can be efficiently implemented using primitive operator directed graphs (PODG). Genetic Algorithms (GAS) are used in conjunction with a heuristic graph design algorithm, to provide a solution set which represents different compromises between perfo...
